Haryana Police to be extra vigilant to ensure safety of people

Chandigarh, March 27 – In the light of the COVID-19 situation, Sh. Manoj Yadava, Director General of Police (DGP), Haryana has urged the people to be more cautious and celebrate ‘Safe Holi’ this time while following appropriate Covid protocol such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, ensuring proper sanitization, etc.

“May the festival of Holi add more colours to the lives of people and inspire them to live harmoniously in the society,” said Sh. Manoj Yadava, DGP while extending his greetings to the people of the State, all ranks of Haryana Police and their families on the auspicious occasion of Holi.

As the bar was placed on celebration at public places, the DGP expressed hope that this time people will celebrate the Holi festival at home with great enthusiasm. There is need to be more precautious and follow all the safety guidelines shared by the government for avoiding any possible chances of coronavirus transmission, he added.

While issuing special instructions to the police officers posted in the field, the DGP directed them to be extra vigilant to maintain proper law and order across the state on this occasion.

“We have already put in place elaborate arrangements to prevent any untoward incidents during the festival. Special barricades would be established to keep a tap on drunken driving. In addition, the number of police personnel for patrolling at public places would also be increased to put a check on public celebrations and gatherings, besides eve-teasing and other incidents. Apart from this, Police would also keep a close watch on anti-social elements. Those found indulge in any unlawful activity will be dealt strictly as per the law”, he added.

The DGP also appealed to the people to respect the feelings of others and not to offend their sensitivity while celebrating the festival of colours.

To spread the message of celebrating ‘Safe’ Holi further, Haryana Police had also launched an awareness campaign on its social media.
